MS and FL
While we were still in MS, we also did some birding at the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Didn't see many birds, but our first alligator of this snow bird season showed itself - also the first mockingbird!
When we got set up at our AL campground, we drove the car to Venice FL for a funeral for my cousin's husband. What a nice eulogy from his son! We could picture Chuck's smile and quiet manner. But when his kids needed discipline, they got this: messy room = your door comes off; didn't make your bed = no bedding when you went to sleep; shouldn't drive your car = it's not in the school parking lot when you come out from class! This was the week of the full moon, so I had to take a picture with a palm tree to remember we were in FL!
And they have birds! Even a special sign to watch out for sandhill cranes. Jan said the adults walk down the streets of their mobile home park with their chicks - showing them off? They look so regal as they stroll along.
So now we're back in AL for the winter. Stay warm, drive safely and Happy Thanksgiving!!
